Bai Kru is designed as a tutorial boss, and you should not worry if you are defeated. The reward for victory, five Red Mercury Essence, is an item that can be easily farmed as you progress through the main story.

How to Beat Bai Kru

The key to this fight is recognizing Bai Kru’s attack patterns and knowing when it’s safe to strike. Patience is more valuable than aggression.

One of its most deceptive moves is the Double Lunge. Bai Kru will leap and slam the ground, and the pause after the first slam might trick you into thinking the attack is over. Be prepared to dodge a second, immediate follow-up lunge before attempting to counter-attack.

Bai Kru Moveset

Move	Details
Double Lunge	Bai Kru jumps and slams the ground. It performs this attack twice in a row, so be ready to dodge a second time.
Heavy Ground Slam	Bai Kru leaps high into the air. Dodge in any direction just before it lands to avoid the powerful slam.
Backflip	When you are behind it, Bai Kru may glance back and perform a backflip. Dodge towards the direction its back was facing to close the distance and avoid damage.
Swift Strikes	A flurry of up to four claw strikes. Bai Kru can end this combo early to start another move. Dodge forward to get behind it.
Consecutive Ground Pounds	Bai Kru performs a rapid series of ground pounds directly in front of it. Stay behind the boss to avoid this and get in some free hits.
Upward Torrent	Bai Kru shoots a torrent of water straight up, which then rains down. Dodge to the sides to avoid the impact area.
Sideward Torrent	A sweeping beam of water is shot from its left to right, then back again. Dodge in the opposite direction of the water’s path. If you are close, sprint behind Bai Kru to evade the attack and deal damage.
Rising Ground Slam	Bai Kru places both hands on the ground for an upward strike, immediately followed by a ground slam. Dodge to the side to avoid the initial hit, then dodge again to avoid the slam.

Bai Kru Location

You can find and challenge Bai Kru by speaking to the Boatman near the Reverent Temple.

1. From the Reverent Temple, exit the main building and proceed down the stairs.
2. Look for a campfire to the right. The Boatman will be standing nearby.
3. Talk to the Boatman to initiate the boss encounter.

One Chance Only

Be aware that you only have one opportunity to speak with the Boatman. This triggers your single chance to fight and defeat Bai Kru in this location.
