Ferry Overlook Walkthrough

After defeating the Fierce Tiger at the Zhenwu Altar, a new path opens, leading you towards the end of your journey on Mt. Zhenwu. This path takes you through a final cave to Ferry Overlook, a small harbor area that serves as a crucial point for completing several NPC questlines before proceeding to the final optional areas.

1. The Point of No Return

1. Speak with the Storyteller At the bottom of the path from the Zhenwu Altar, you’ll find the Storyteller near a dead shrine. He will warn you that proceeding from here is a point of no return for certain quests. If you have unfinished business in other areas, now is the time to complete it.

2. Visit Panda (Optional) Before entering the cave, take the path to the left through the bamboo. At the end, you’ll find Panda’s shop. He may have new items for sale.

2. The Cave to the Overlook

The cave connecting the altar to the overlook is filled with traps and a rewarding optional path.

1. Navigate the Entrance Enter the cave and be cautious of spike traps on the floor, some activated by pressure plates.

2. Take the Optional Upper Path You’ll come to a large cavern with a wooden bridge. Before crossing, take the path to the right.

   • Navigate past Blight-spitting jars and climb the ladder. You can find a Flawless Red Mercury on a ledge halfway up.
   • At the top, a boulder will roll down a ramp. Dodge it and continue up.
   • You will find a red-eyed Ming Guard at the end of this path. Defeating him rewards you with a Radiant Red Feather and Red Mercury Essence. The Spell: Heavenly Thunder is also on the ground in this room.

3. Cross the Main Path & Exit Return to the main cavern and cross the wooden bridge. Fight your way past a small bandit camp. Before the cave exit, turn left and smash the wooden debris. Behind it is a chest containing the Benediction: Ta - Swift Poise Break.

3. Ferry Overlook: NPCs and Quests

Exit the cave to arrive at Ferry Overlook. Activate the Shrine: Ferry Overlook on the bridge before heading down to the harbor. This area is where many stories conclude.

Sun Kewang and Li Dingguo

The outcome of your interaction with these characters depends entirely on your actions in Zhenwu Temple.

Quest Note: Li Dingguo’s Fate

• If you gave Li Dingguo the Secret Letter: He and Sun Kewang will be standing here peacefully. Speak with them, and they will thank you and depart. Reload the area (by resting at the shrine) to find the Weapon: Serpent Fang on the ground where Li was standing.
• If you did NOT give Li Dingguo the Secret Letter: He will be hostile and attack you on sight in the water nearby. Defeating him will reward you with the Weapon: Serpent Fang, A Letter, and a Lustrous Red Feather.

Shen Jing’an and Shen Yanping

If you have been following their questline, you can give them their final items here.

Quest Note: The Butler’s Armor

1. Find the Shen family at the overlook.
2. Give Shen Jing’an both Glut’s Token and Matchstick’s Token (found in Avian Marsh).
3. When she asks you to come with them, choose the dialogue option “I have unfinished business to attend to” to receive a Flawless Red Mercury.
4. Reload the area. You will find the complete Butler Shen’s Armor Set on the ground where they were.

You may also find the Child in the Jar and the Boatman here, depending on your quest progression.

4. Final Loot & Path to Bai Mansion

Before leaving, there is one last piece of treasure to collect.

1. Find the Tiger Pendant Walk to the very end of the longest, furthest pier in the harbor. At the tip, you will find the Jade Pendant: Tiger Pendant.

2. Travel to Bai Mansion Return to the main dock area. Speak with the Boatman, who will allow you to use one of the smaller boats. Interacting with this boat will take you to the next area: Bai Mansion.
