Blightweaver Great Centipede Boss Guide

The Blightweaver Great Centipede is an optional boss in Wuchang: Fallen Feathers. This enormous centipede lurks in the Bandit Cave beneath the palace in Worship’s Rise. While not mandatory, defeating it rewards players with a powerful magic-scaling weapon and other valuable items. This guide covers the best strategy to defeat it and all of its rewards.

Key to Victory

Bait the boss into attacking the electrified stone structures in the arena.
Unleash your strongest Blunt or Lightning attacks while it is stunned.
It is extremely vulnerable to Poise Break; abilities that inflict this status will end the fight quickly.

Where to Find the Great Centipede?

The boss is located within a large cavern inside the Bandit Cave. From the Bandit Cave shrine, follow the path down and drop into the large open room to start the fight.

Great Centipede: Weaknesses & Strategy

Exploiting the Centipede’s critical vulnerabilities is the key to victory. It is completely defenseless against Blunt and Lightning damage, and has very low resistance to Paralysis and Poise Break.

Best Gear & Preparation for the Great Centipede

Equip the right gear to capitalize on the boss’s weaknesses.

Weapons: Any weapon that deals primarily Blunt damage is ideal. The Halberd or the preorder-exclusive Vermillion War Club are excellent choices for this fight.
Spells: If you have a magic-focused build, any Lightning spell like Thunderstorm will inflict massive damage.
Temperance: Equip Bone Needle - Poise Break or Bone Needle - Lightning in the Impetus Repository to infuse your weapon with the boss’s main weaknesses.

How to Beat the Blightweaver Great Centipede

This fight is more of a puzzle than a direct brawl. Instead of attacking the boss head-on, your primary goal is to use the arena’s environmental hazards against it.

Position yourself behind one of the electrified stone structures marked with talismans.
When the Centipede attacks, dodge out of the way at the last second, causing its attack to hit the stone structure.
The structure will discharge, stunning the boss for several seconds. This is your main window to deal damage.
Unleash your strongest combos with a Blunt weapon. Repeat this cycle until the boss is defeated.

Moveset (All Attacks Explained)

Pincer Strike

Tell: The boss strikes the ground with its pincers one by one as it moves towards you, then raises both for a final slam.
Counter: Dodge to the sides just before the final slam lands. Do not try to get behind it during this attack, as it can track your movement.
Punish Window: You have a small window to attack its head after the final slam.

Earthly Burrow

Tell: The boss burrows completely underground. A fiery glow will appear on the ground beneath you just before it erupts.
Counter: As soon as you see the glow, dodge to the side. It will repeat this four times.
Punish Window: After the fourth and final eruption, its head is briefly exposed for a few attacks.
