Battlefield Pass Walkthrough

After defeating the Perfect Bride - Fang Ling, the Storyteller will appear beside the Wedding Hall shrine. Speak with him, and he will transport you to Hillswatch Cave, the entry point for the Battlefield Pass at Mt. Zhenwu. This guide will walk you through the ruins, detailing every enemy, key item, and secret path.

1. Hillswatch Cave

You will arrive in Hillswatch Cave, a mostly linear area that serves as a short prelude to the main battlefield.

1. Proceed into the Cave From your spawn point, move forward and descend the ladder. Follow the main path, but be wary of Spoiled Fruit which can inflict Blight.

2. Find the White-Robed Elder (Quest) You will reach a fork in the path. Take the tunnel on the right which leads upwards.

   • Pick up the Brilliant Red Feather on the ground near the White-Robed Elder.
   • Speak with the Elder to progress his questline. He will reward you with a Flawless Red Mercury.

   Speaking with him here is crucial for completing his side quest later on.

3. Advance to the Battlefield Return to the fork and take the other path. Follow it, climb a series of three ladders, and you will emerge into the open. You will see the Battlefield Pass Shrine directly ahead.

2. Battlefield Pass - The Entrance

Activate the Shrine ( Battlefield Pass) to create a checkpoint. The area ahead is a ruined battlefield. Your first priority is a dangerous Lotus Sorcerer positioned on the high ruined wall to your left, who will endlessly summon spectral enemies until defeated.

Silencing the First Sorcerer

1. Find the Path Up From the shrine, head left through the large hole in the wall. Immediately turn right to find a staircase leading up through a ruined building.

2. Ascend and Engage Take the stairs to the top of the wall where the Lotus Sorcerer is located. Rush him down before he can summon reinforcements.

3. Collect the Loot Once the sorcerer is defeated, explore the top of the wall. At the end of the wall, on a corpse, you will find the Spell: Lotus Soulflame. You can also find consumables like Purple Camellia x2 on a nearby table.

3. The Ruined Town

From the high wall, you can spot another Lotus Sorcerer on a rooftop across the way. This enemy will bombard you with exploding lotus blossoms if left alone.

Eliminating the Second Sorcerer

1. Locate the Access Tunnel Head back to the ground level. Near the main path, find a small tunnel on the right marked by a torch. This tunnel leads up to the sorcerer’s rooftop.

2. Spring the Ambush Enter the tunnel to get behind the Lotus Sorcerer. Be cautious of the poison pots near the tunnel’s exit; breaking them releases a homing poison cloud. Defeat the sorcerer.

3. Gather the Rewards With the area safer, collect the loot:

   • Brilliant Red Feather: On the edge of the same roof where the sorcerer was.
   • Bloodied Steamed Bunny Bun: Drop down from the roof. This important quest item is on a corpse behind the house you were just on.

4. The Path to the Bloody Cavern

The way forward is through a large tunnel that leads down into a bloody, underground cavern. As you approach, a new, more dangerous enemy awaits inside.

The Blight Lotus Sorcerer and the Despair Mechanic

Inside the cavern, you will face a Blight Lotus Sorcerer.

Mechanic Explained: Despair This sorcerer emits an aura that inflicts Despair, a status effect indicated by a filling red icon. If the gauge fills completely, you die. Use line of sight to your advantage to stop the buildup. The bloody water in this cavern also inflicts Corruption.

Cavern Loot and Path Forward

1. Find the Lost Remains After dropping into the cavern, immediately take the path on your right. Follow it to a small ledge where you’ll find a large golden chest containing Lost Remains.

2. Proceed to the Exit Return to the bloody water and take the long path forward, which leads out of the cavern into a small forested area.

5. The Forest Altar and the Refugee Camp

Upon exiting the cavern, you will see another Lotus Sorcerer guarding a stone altar. Defeat it to access a small chest behind the altar containing the Benediction: Wei - Vitality Force.

From the altar, two paths remain:

• To the right: A short path where an avian enemy guards the final Brilliant Red Feather.
• To the left: The main path forward. Before heading down the slope, find the Medicine Case near some crates.

At the bottom of the slope, you’ll find a campsite with He Youzai. The long ladder to his right leads down to the Refugee Camp.
